Seit dem 01. August 2021 haben wir ein kleines Büro für unser Mikrokreditprojekt angemietet und ausgestattet. Bisher wurde das Projekt von Pauline Kakai von ihrem Homeoffice aus geleitet. Da sich die Gruppe der Darlehensnehmer ständig vergrößert, mussten wir bereits im letzten Jahr 2 weitere Mitarbeiter einstellen. Seitdem wird nicht nur mehr Lagerfläche für die „Papierberge“ aus Anträgen, Darlehensverträgen, Finanz- und Tätigkeitsberichten benötigt, sondern die Mitarbeiter brauchen auch einen ausreichenden Arbeitsplatz für die Verwaltungsarbeiten sowie für gemeinsame Besprechungen und Gespräche mit Klienten. Das Büro befindet sich in einem Vorort von Mbale, auf direktem Weg zu den Dörfern, in denen „unsere“ Darlehensnehmer wohnen. So können sich unsere Mitarbeiter nun jeden Morgen im Büro treffen, Besprechungen durchführen und vorbereitende Arbeiten erledigen, bevor sie zu den Klienten fahren um diese zu beraten, zu betreuen, Darlehen auszuzahlen oder Rückzahlungen entgegenzunehmen. Der Vermieter ist eine ugandische Privatperson. Bevor wir eingezogen sind, haben wir noch kleinere Elektro- und Malerarbeiten durchführen lassen. Die Büroausstattung haben wir bei einem örtlichen Schreiner in Auftrag gegeben. So konnten wir einheimische Handwerker mit ihren Hilfskräften unterstützen. Die Arbeitslosigkeit ist in Uganda sehr hoch und durch die überwiegend arme Bevölkerung in den kleinen Städten und Dörfern ist die Auftragslage (nicht nur) bei Handwerkern sehr schlecht.
