Am Montag, dem 10. Januar war es endlich so weit: wir durften die Schule wieder eröffnen und unsere Lehrkräfte und das Team konnten unsere Kinder nach fast zwei Jahren wieder offiziell zum Unterricht begrüßen. Für die Kleinen, die 2021 aufgenommen wurden, war es ebenso der erste Schultag, wie für die wenigen Kinder, die 2022 neu hinzukamen. Für diese suchen wir übrigens noch eine Patin/einen Paten … weiter

Wir wünschen allen unseren Spendern, Helfern, Unterstützern, unserer unermüdlichen Mikrokreditmitarbeiterin Pauline mit ihrem Team, dem Kwa-Moyo-Team in Deutschland und Uganda und den Mitarbeiterinnen und Schülerinnen der Kwa Moyo Schule ein ruhiges und entspanntes Weihnachtsfest sowie ein gesundes und erfolgreiches Jahr 2022.

Update November 2021
Liebe Pat:innen und Freund:innen von Kwa Moyo,
uns hat hier in Deutschland die Pandemie wieder mehr oder weniger fest im Griff. Um so mehr hoffen wir, dass es Ihnen/Euch allen gut geht. In Uganda ist die Lage bereits seit einigen Wochen auf niedrigem Niveau stabil und die WHO geht bereits von einer Herdenimmunität aus.
Das war die erste gute Nachricht. Es gibt weitere:
> Das Homeschooling
läuft sehr gut und die Kinder der 4. und 5. Klasse haben bereits die ersten Prüfungen hinter sich. Das Ergebnis ist viel versprechend. Die Prüfungen für die Kinder der anderen Grundschulklassen werden gerade vorbereitet und auch hier erwarten wir gute Resultate. Es hat sich gezeigt, dass der Unterricht in Kleingruppen allen Schüler:innen gut tut, besonders natürlich denen, die in der Vergangenheit Probleme hatten.
> Lehrerfortbildung
Demnächst wird es wieder eine mehrtägige Fortbildung für unsere Lehrkräfte geben, bei der diese u.a. auch eine einheitliche Schrift, ähnlich der „vereinfachten Ausgangsschrift“, die in Deutschland seit vielen Jahren an den Grundschulen gelehrt wird, erlernen werden. Das sorgt für ein einheitliches Schriftbild, das z.B. an weiterführenden Schulen von den Kindern erwartet wird. Da die Unterrichtssprache Englisch nicht die Muttersprache unserer Lehrer:innen ist, beinhaltet diese Fortbildung auch Hinweise auf häufige Fehler in der Aussprache … weiter
